  1.  A model of delinquency was constructed based on social control &
  2. social learning theories, to specifically examine how parenting
  3. factors, social skills, value commitments, & problems in school
  4. contribute to adolescents' association with deviant peers &
  5. involvement in delinquent behavior. The model was tested using a
  6. sample of 61 families, all including a seventh grader. Questionnaires
  7. & coded videotaped family interaction were employed as measures of
  8. study constructs. The results largely supported the proposed models. 1
